Today is Mother’s Day and I’m considering the quality of mothering that is a dance of holding and letting go, holding and letting go. There are parts to the process of holding this weight that are often, though not exclusively, specific to women. A deep bow to the sometimes oppressive weight of the holding and the both poignant and liberating nature of the letting go. Children, relationships, roles, hopes, beauty, time, basically all things. May we all hold and let go with a wise and loving heart.
